In order to receive full credit for each question you must show both equations and the steps needed to solve the problems.

2) Helen Weller invested $11, 000 in an account that pays 12% simple interest. How much additional money must be invested in an account that pays 15% simple interest so that the total interest is equal to the interest on the two investments at the rate of 13%?

3) How many liters of a 50% alcohol solution must be mixed with 60 liters of an 80% solution to get a 70% solution?

4) An airplane travels 600 miles against the wind in 5 hours, and makes the return trip with the same wind in 1 hour. Find the speed of the wind.

5) Bert is 13 kilometers away from Brenda. Both begin to walk toward each other at the same time. Bert walks at 4 kilometers per hour. They meet in 2 hours. How fast is Brenda walking?
